Jesus defined Himself as “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6)
He also defined the Word of God as truth: “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17)
“For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37).
The apostle Paul lists the belt of truth as the first element in a Christian’s armor against evil. What is absolute truth, and does it even exist? People confuse opinion for truth. With today’s societal climate people on all sides have their own truths based on their strongly held personal opinions. Satan realizes that if he can get our minds and emotions, that will affect our worship and our obedience to God. That’s why he always works to implant wrong teachings and lies into our minds through books, music, TV, and conversation. Our minds affect our walk—how we live.
The line between absolute truth and opinion cannot be described as grey if you apply biblical principles absolute truth is only found through the word of God and the word holds everything together. So, does absolute truth exist? Yes, only through the word of God.
