He saw that there was no man. And was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought salvation to Him; and his righteousness upheld Him. And He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head, and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle. Isaiah 59:16-17 NASB

The helmet is the last piece of amour that is put on before battle. This was the final act of being ready for the battle ahead. Without the helmet, the soldier’s brain/mind would be completely
vulnerable to the enemy. If the brain is damaged, the rest of the armour doesn’t do much good. Our mind is a spiritual battlefield. If we are not equipped with the Word of God in our minds Satan will come in and barrage us with negative thoughts about ourselves, including how worthless we are due to our failures. Satan is good at putting people in condemnation, BUT GOD always forgives us when we repent and ask for it. The weekend of June 17-19, 2022, my best friend and ministry partner went on a retreat that God had sent us on. It was an extremely spirit filled weekend with God. Then bedtime came. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in spiritual warfare. At night was particularly hard. It’s gotten better over the years, but this weekend it was fierce. Being in a new place makes it hard enough to fall asleep because you’re getting used to the sounds, etc. This weekend, I was constantly scanning the area. I kept seeing dark figures and demons coming up the stairs or popping up around my bed. I immediately began to pray and decree God’s Word. I even turned on spirit filled music to fill my mind while sleeping. Every time I’d close my eyes, they’d pop back open and start scanning the area again. I then started praying in the Spirit and God was
able to calm my mind and help me fall asleep. Until I put on the Helmet and started filling my mind with God’s truth and allowing the Holy Spirit to move through me, I was not able to fight on
the battlefield within my mind.
